This guide will hopefully help walk you through the various steps, screens, and decisions you will make to embark on your adventure into Sanctuary!
Character Creation[]
Race Selection[]
You can pick a race just like normal EQ but you WILL be able to change the appearance of your race to whichever race you like in the starter area. You will keep the starting stats and class that you choose but otherwise you can change to any other race for the look.
Class Selection[]
Probably the most important decision you will make that will determine what type of character you will play. This decision will determine what class you will be as you progress from level 1 to level 20. At level 20 you will choose a Subclass which solidifies your skillset and role. To determine what class to play, it is recommended that you pick a Subclass that fits your style and then choose the corresponding Classes to get started.
During character creation you can see the classes listed on the right, and the subclasses available for the selected class are listed in the class description on the left.

If you do select a pre-existing UI layout, your game may temporarily freeze, this is ok. Once you click through the "Ok" ok the dialog boxes you should be taken to Purgatory. You may get stuck at the grassy area and not transition to Purgatory. If this happens, just camp out to character select and come back in.
Purgatory[]
Once you spawn into Purgatory you can select how your race looks while keeping the starting statistics of your selected race.
You just need to walk up to the glowing Haze of Introspection and target it. Hail it and click on "feel" (or say "feel") and then click on or say the name of whichever race you would like to look like. It will disconnect you and when you log back in you will be whichever race you chose. You can then change your facial appearance via the "Face" button on your inventory screen.
You will also want to see if you have any Alternate Advancement (AA) abilities that you can claim at level 1. Hit V to bring up the screen and look for any that are not greyed out that you can then claim.
From there, you will want to familiarize yourself with any spells that may be in your spellbook or disciplines/combat abilities that you start with. Once you have done that, you are ready to walk down the hall and begin your adventure into Sanctuary!
